Writing quality content and better blog posts for your site can be a very exhausting process, both, physically and mentally, especially when you’re just starting out, and you still don’t have a lot of experience in the field.

It will take a lot of your time and effort, and the writer’s block will be the biggest hurdle you’ll have to face in your writing career. You should do your best and combine all of your assets to be able to write something that is helpful, entertaining and authentic.


Practice makes Perfect for the Amateur Writer

To become a better writer that crafts great blog posts for his readers, there’s really only one solution. Practice.

In this post, however, I discuss 5 other tips to help you become more productive and make the process of writing a lot easier for you.

Do some research

Research should be the first place to start from before writing anything. Look for inspiration, take time to think about what excites you and use your imagination to come up with as many ideas to write about as possible.

As I mentioned in a previous post, this the best way to beat your writer’s block.

The internet is an endless encyclopedia and it’s filled with more and more information. Spend some time searching and learning new stuff, remembering things that you already knew and add that knowledge to your writing list.

You can be creating many lists of topics to talk and write about just by doing a couple of research sessions every week.

You will never run out of things to write for if you know how to use the internet.


Read before you write

Reading before you start writing is warming up the creative writer in you. Reading is what will provide you with a vast arsenal of information for all of your future projects.

It’s what will complement the research process we mentioned above, and it’s what will teach you how to connect with your readers, because when you’re reading something and enjoying it, take note that your readers are looking for the same thing.

Know that reading is the best return on investment.

How’s that?

You have to live your entire life to know one life, but when reading, you can know hundreds of people’s lives in no time. See how much knowledge you could acquire and how that will only make you a better writer?

Reflect on that.


Organize your thoughts

Organizing your ideas and thoughts will play a significant role in the success of your writing material.

Create a writing template for your blog posts that will make the process simpler. You don’t have to follow it all the time but when in need, it’s very practical. You can also create many templates for different kinds of blog posts, it’s all up to you.

You are the master of your work and the architect of your words. Excel by creating as many forms and shapes as you want.

Make sure that what you write serves a goal, make it useful, move from one step to another to keep your readers hooked, and always work on the quality of your content.


Create the perfect writing environment

Find what’s working for you. Look for a place that helps your creative juices flow and aspire you to write more freely. Find the perfect spot and start from there.

Personally, I like to use Noisli (a free white noise service), that helps me concentrate and be more inspired. I can only write early in the morning or around midnight before going to sleep.

Don’t imitate what others are doing, however.

Maybe you are more productive while listening to music or working in complete silence, look for what’s working for you and make it a writing ritual for your pleasure. Find your way and find your voice. That’s the only choice.


Enjoy what you do

The key to being successful in anything is enjoying what you do.

Discover why a lot of people love to write, read about their experiences, learn from their mistakes and apply the tips they’re sharing. Look for books or courses on how to write more efficiently.

Again, when you have access to the internet, the sky is the limit.


Start Writing

At first, it may seem like hard work, and it is. But with time, you’ll become able to write a 1000 words article in a matter of minutes. You need to start somewhere, however, so the biggest step you can take today is to just start!

Keep working and improving until you get comfortable and start feeling that enjoyable sensation about what you do. It’s where you’ll realize that you can do it.

Writing great blog posts is not something you can master in a week. It takes a lot of time, dedication, and motivation, and you don’t have to do it alone, you should be seeking help, learning from successful writers and getting as much feedback as possible to improve, hone your skills and reach high levels of success in the fastest and best way possible.
